Mission, goals and scope of activity

The mission of the journal (published in print and online) is to expand the platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences of the scientific and research community, as well as to present research results. The ambition of the Editorial board is to ultimately create a journal that is well noticed on the domestic market of scientific journals in the field of social sciences, with an impact factor that satisfies the authors of the studies and the accompanying score by the Ministry. The rules for the creation and operation of a peer-reviewed scientific journal were also subordinate to this, including the international composition of the Scientific board, as well as professionally selected members of the Reviewers' Team and the Editorial board, as well as the requirements for papers submitted for publication.

Scientific papers in the field of social sciences are published in the multidisciplinary journal. The subtitle outlines a broad spectrum of issues that may be covered by the journal's potential subject matter. The articles published so far refer to many scientific disciplines, mainly in the field of social sciences: economics and finance, management and quality science, political and administration science, legal science and even health science in the field of medical science. In line with the main title, however, we assume that each of the studies proposed for publication, at least indirectly, will take into account the broadly understood economic aspects of the subject matter under consideration. These can be studies of a general theoretical nature, providing the reader with more or less original and specialized knowledge broadening the existing horizons. Many articles include the results of original research on socio-economic organizations, including those relating to various spatial scales: European, national or regional, e.g. the Lesser Poland region, and especially the Nowy Sącz subregion.

The journal plays an important role in publicizing and disseminating the scientific and research achievements of the employees of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of our University. We are, of course, open-minded and highly value submissions by external authors. Therefore, articles by both Polish and foreign authors, falling within the thematic area outlined above, are accepted for publication in the journal. Foreign authors prepare texts in English. Polish authors may also publish in this language.

Each article submitted for publication is first subject to a preliminary assessment in terms of formal requirements, e.g. as to compliance with the thematic profile of the journal and the appropriate language level. Preliminarily qualified by the Editorial board, the article is then subject to reviews prepared by two external reviewers, with respect to the Publisher, with a scientific specialization corresponding to the subject covered in a given study. Publications are also verified by the Antiplagiat system (plagiat.pl).

The activity of the journal is coordinated by the Scientific Publishing House of the University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz, which has been on the ministerial list of highly scored publications since 2019 (level I) - Announcement of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of December 17, 2019 on publications publishing reviewed scientific monographs.

The journal operates on the grounds of the Regulations of Scientific Publishing House of the University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz. For the sake of care and uniformity of the numbers presented, all submitted materials must be prepared in accordance with the specific editorial requirements of the journal (see Editorial guidelines for authors). A very important aspect is the review process – papers are reviewed by two reviewers affiliated from outside the University appointed by the Editorial board; both reviews are anonymous, carried out in the double blind review process (see Reviewing Procedure). The entire publishing process is based on the procedures developed by the Comittee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (see Editorial Ethics).
